The Dog

Since 1993, The Watchdog has been evaluating reproduction items and resources available to Civil War enactors and role-players. The staff and contributors (knowledgeable and experienced in the study of nineteenth-century material culture) evaluate and review products currently available from merchants and suppliers. The Watchdog provides accurate, comprehensive information that allows enactors to be educated consumers of reproduction goods. Published quarterly, The Watchdog provides up-to-date research about uniforms, civilian clothing, camp equipment, weapons, accoutrements, reference books, video tapes, and more! You can trust The Watchdog to give you the most current information available!

The Watchdog accepts no paid advertising, so no one can jerk his leash. The Watchdog is a non-profit corporation in the State of Michigan. Funds remaining after expenses are donated to battlefield and historic preservation organizations.
